  • Bio: Milan Larson has recently joined the Monfort College of Business as an Assistant Professor in Management, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management courses. Although new to the UNC community, he spent 11 years in Colorado and is glad to be returning to Colorado after a 4 year hiatus pursing his PhD. He has been teaching at the university for ten years at other institutions, including Colorado State University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter Minnesota. He earned his bachelor’s of arts from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN; MBA from the Executive Programs at University of Colorado; and PhD from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. With an emphasis in Human Resource Management, Milan focuses his research on HRM in small businesses and entrepreneurship. Other areas of research interest include positive psychology in the work place, psychological contracts of employees, and employee resiliency. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, National Decision Science Institute, Academy of Management, and Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology. Before working in academia, Milan worked as a manager in the retail and manufacturing industries, including Teledyne Water Pik in Fort Collins, Colorado. In addition to his manager roles, he has worked as an outside consultant with companies in the manufacturing, retail, healthcare, high tech, and non-profit industries throughout the country. When not at work, Milan enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters doing any outdoor activity, but especially golfing, skiing, camping, and boating.
