CESSNA AIRCRAFT CO. DONATES $75,000 TO MONFORT COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

(2008-01-15 00:00:00.0) GREELEY, Colo. (Jan. 15, 2008) – Cessna Aircraft Co., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, has committed $75,000 to the University of Northern Colorado Monfort College of Business.
The donation will go to sponsorship of a classroom in Kepner Hall, home of the Monfort College of Business. The donation will be given in 10 annual installments of $7,500.
“As an alumnus of the College, it’s my pleasure to be part of this gift,” said Mike Shonka (Accounting, 1969), executive vice president and chief financial officer for Cessna, based in Wichita, Kan. “I attribute a lot of my success to the time I spent sitting in the College’s classrooms.”
Shonka is also a member of the College’s Dean’s Leadership Council, a group of alumni and business leaders who recommend strategies to accomplish the College’s mission of delivering an excellent undergraduate business program.
“We are grateful for all of Mike’s efforts and the tremendous generosity of Cessna,” said Tim Jares, interim dean at the Monfort College of Business. “We’ve had a number of our graduates go on and work for Cessna. It is a great company.”
