(2007-12-13 00:00:00.0) GREELEY, Colo. (Dec. 13, 2007) – Dr. Ron Reed, professor of accounting at the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, was honored as an “everyday hero” by the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). He was cited for his dedication to his students, his enthusiasm, and his efforts to give back to the accounting profession.

A profile by the CSCPA noted “His enthusiasm is infectious. A professor of accounting at Colorado universities since 1981, he’s not only taught but also helped to place legions of accounting students in professional positions.”

Reed has been a member of the accounting faculty at the Monfort College of Business since 1988. He currently teaches principles of accounting and auditing courses. He is the president of the Educational Foundation of the CSCPA, and is past president of the Colorado Chapter of Financial Executives International. He has won numerous awards and has held various professional academic positions.

Reed was honored with professionals and academics at the annual “CPAs Make a Difference” event in November. This marks the second time a Monfort College of Business accounting professor has received the award. The first was Professor Allen McConnell in 2003.
