TURNER APPOINTED TO STATE BOARD OF ACCOUNTANCY

(2007-12-06 00:00:00.0) GREELEY, Colo. (Dec. 6, 2007) – Colorado Governor Bill Ritter has appointed Dr. Karen Turner, assistant professor of accounting at the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, to a four-year term on the Colorado State Board of Accountancy.
The board regulates the certified public accounting profession in Colorado. Among the board’s duties are identifying, examining, and licensing qualified practitioners, and identifying and licensing qualified public accounting firms.
Turner has been at the Monfort College of Business since 2004, teaching accounting courses including intermediate accounting, accounting theory and research, and fraud examination. She has taught at Texas A&M University, Baylor University, Valdosta State in Georgia and most recently at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she was chair of the Department of Accounting, Economics & Finance. She is a licensed CPA in Colorado and Texas.
