Dr. Ron Reed, professor of accounting at the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, has accepted a nomination to serve on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). His two-year term begins on May 1, 2009.
The CSCPA is the statewide, not-for-profit, professional association serving Colorado Certified Public Accountants and the public. The CSCPA comprises more than 8,500 members who must meet stringent continuing education requirements to keep their Colorado CPA certificates active and to retain their CSCPA membership. The CSCPA offers more than 300 continuing professional education classes to assist CPAs in fulfilling these requirements. In addition, the CSCPA offers on-site programs tailored to the firm’s, company’s, or organization’s needs.
Reed joins the Board of Directors in overseeing the activities of the CSCPA. He has been a member of the accounting faculty at the Monfort College of Business since 1988. He currently teaches principles of accounting and auditing courses. He is the past president of the Educational Foundation of the CSCPA, and is currently on the board of directors of the Colorado Chapter of Financial Executives International. He has won numerous awards and has held various professional and academic positions.
