Greeley, Colo. – Jim Elsberry, executive professor at the University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business, has been recognized as the Regional Faculty Member of the Month by the by the intermountain region of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH). The NRHH is the honor society for the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, the world’s largest student-operated organization, advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development.
“Professor Elsberry cares,” said business student Rudy Robles in his nomination of Elsberry. “Rather than making students as rich as possible, Professor Elsberry wants to make students as ethical as possible. Business students are usually in business because they want money. What business students like me fail to notice at times is the responsibility to our communities as future business leaders. Professor Elsberry wants us to understand that there is a right way of doing business.”
The regional award will be presented at the upcoming national conference of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls on May 22-25 at the University of Arizona in Tucson. As a regional winner, Elsberry qualifies as a candidate for the national award which will be announced at the conference.
Elsberry’s regional award is for the month of February 2009. Other regional winners came from Kutztown University, Northern Illinois University, University of North Texas, North Carolina State University, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and New York University.
