MSDNAA Instructions for Access 2007

Here are some directions. The most important point to be aware of is that you MUST BE on a computer that has a HIGH SPEED connection to the Internet (DSL or Cable Modem) AND the computer NEEDS to have a WRITABLE CD drive.

Steps:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Open the address: http://msdn01.e-academy.com/unco_cis
  • Click the "Login" button
  • Enter the username (should be your bear mail address) given to you in the "You Are Registered" e-mail from elms_support@e-academy.com
  • Enter the password that you were provided in the e-mail identified in Step 3.
  • Click the "Log Me In" button
  • Note: at this point there are numerous options available which you should explore when you have time.
  • Click on the "Software" tab

  • Click on the drop down menu to the right of "Search by Product Titles"
  • Select Access 2007 or other product
  • Click the "Go" button to the right of the drop down box
  • Review the information on the screen that appears and then click "Add to Cart"
  • Note: At this point it may be advisable to print a copy of the next few pages for reference
  • Click the "I Agree" button at the bottom of the Agreement page
  • On the "View Shopping Cart" page Click the "Check Out" button
  • Enter your First and Last name on the "Customer Information" page (your e-mail address should automatically appear, if not enter it as well)
  • Decide whether you want to receive MSDN Student Flash information e-mail newsletter and uncheck or leave the box checked
  • Click the "Next" button
  • Note: You DEFINITELY want to PRINT a copy of the next page as well as the page with the Serial Number (EULA code) as you will NEED it to INSTALL the Access 2007 software
  • On the "Order Details" page; Select either "Access 2007" under Software Title or "Download" under Item
  • REMEMBER TO PRINT THE 2nd "ORDER DETAILS" PAGE WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER!!
  • Click the "Download Software" button
  • Note: At this time the e-academy system will send you an e-mail noting your purchase (selection) of the MS Access 2007 software program. It will NOT contain the serial number, but will have information on how to retrieve the serial number if you lose it.
  • On the screen that appears click "Run", DO NOT click "Save"
  • Depending on the security on your computer you may be prompted again, if so click "Run"
  • Note: At this point you have downloaded a small program which will perform the actual downloading of the Microsoft Access 2007 files , you do NOT have the Microsoft Access 2007 program.
  • A new window will open in you taskbar titled: License Authorization and Software Installation
  • A box with a location of c:\temp (you may change, this location, but it is not advisable) will be in the window as well as a progress section on the left hand side
  • Click on the "Continue" button to download the 570MB of Microsoft Access files
  • A progress bar will show at the bottom of the window, showing the % of completion.
  • Note: Depending on the speed of your computer and Internet connection this will take 5 - 10 minutes, 2 - 3 hours or any time in between. Watch the progress bar for 2 or 3 minutes to gauge the time.
  • Once completed click "Launch Install" this will take you to the directory with the downloaded Microsoft Access .ISO file.
  • You will need to burn this to a CD using a product such as NERO, Roxio, or a free program called ISOburn (Click to download)
