Digital Sign Technology
The Monfort College of Business employs a large-scale use of digital signs throughout the building. These signs display class schedules, weather and stock information, university announcements, and more. The digital sign system is a free and easy way to raise awareness about groups, events, or anything related to UNC or the Monfort College of Business.
Signs displayed via flat-screen televisions are found throughout important areas of the building and display announcements and advertisements as well as any pertinent information to the area. For example, televisions outside of department offices also list the office hours for the professors in that department. The smaller screens outside of each classroom display the time and description of each class that is scheduled in the room, as well announcements for class cancellations.
Bulletins that are displayed on these digital signs are dynamic. Certain information is automatically updated, and bulletins only display while they are relevant. The digital sign system can utilize screen space efficiently, with the capability of taking one screen and dividing it into multiple areas of information.
