Monfort Institute

Nashville 2006

The fall meeting in Nashville was focused on reinvigorating the consortium and included: a review and revision of the mission and vision; the development of key success factors; the development of a formal management structure; and the identification of the value-added activities needed to help BAR members sustain the gains in performance and achieve the next level.

The value-added activities identified at the meeting included: forums for sharing; a KM system for confidential communication among BAR members and with researchers; and benchmarking and best practices sharing projects. The group decided to conduct two regularly scheduled meetings each year - one in the spring and one in the fall.

The spring meetings will be scheduled to coincide with the annual Quest for Excellence conference. This meeting will focus on sharing ideas and key issues facing the BAR members, welcoming the new members to the consortium, and addressing administrative  issues.

The fall summit meetings will focus on three activities: benchmarking and best practice sharing; executive roundtable discussions; and research workshops to discuss the application of research findings. The fall meeting will last approximately two days and will be held at the facilities of the BAR member host.

Discuss key Monfort Institute initiatives including the Knowledge Management System and Research Process

The Monfort Institute has done much work over the last several months on building a knowledge management system and is now looking for input from a broader audience to finalize the procedures and policies necessary to deploy the system for BAR use. We would also like input from Baldrige recipients to increase participation and value of the BAR meetings held each year at the Quest event.
